Amazon Prime Video Search understands queries, balances between relevance and popularity, and delivers results, so our customers can work less and watch more. Our team is growing almost as fast as Prime Video's amazing catalog, and we are looking for a Senior PMT manager to lead our Product team to the next chapter of Search for Prime Video.
Key job responsibilities
Help define the mission, vision, and tenets of the PV Search team
Manage a team of star PM-Ts each focused on an evolving program
Engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to conceive and design innovative features in Prime Video
Influence roadmap priorities, features, and engineering process working across multiple teams
Create launch plans that have clear, measurable success criteria, and clearly communicate progress and outcomes
Lead weekly launch readiness meetings with stakeholder teams
Relentlessly simplify and demonstrate significant innovation, creativity, and good judgment when solving challenging problems
Drive best practices on the team, deal with ambiguity and competing objectives, and proactively identify and mitigate risks before they become roadblocks
Write effective narratives and present them concisely and effectively to Directors and VPs
Help teams reduce exposure to classic failure modes (e.g., requirements not sufficiently understood/documented, ineffective cross-team collaboration, long-term impact(s) from of the use of third-party technologies, APIs not protected/hardened, insufficient testing/gaps in QA)

As a Sr Manager of PM-Ts, you will anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints. An ability to take large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces, develop functional specifications, then deliver them in a successful and timely manner is expected. Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent and leadership are essential to success in this role.

Basic Qualifications
8+ years of technical product management, program management or engineering experience
2+ years of experience with end to end product delivery
Experience leading engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
Bachelor's Degree
Experience owning feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
Experience owning roadmap strategy and definition
6+ years of experience managing teams
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical discipline
Experience in Search or Media
Proven results from establishing and optimizing software engineering processes for different organizations/environments
Comfortable with ambiguity and be motivated by a fast-paced, highly collaborative and entrepreneurial environment.
