CoStar Group has 20+ years' experience developing careers of professional real estate and architectural photographers. We are looking to add dynamic leaders to our full-time staff of hundreds of photography professionals that are ready to transform residential real estate. This role will be supported by our growth and innovation at our expanding global campus in Richmond, Virginia.

As the Director, Residential Photography, you will build a world-class team of leaders and photographers that will redefine the residential real estate marketplace. You will demonstrate your leadership, adaptability, creativity, strategic-thinking, communication, and analytical skills by building careers for those in your group and serving CoStar Group customers. The managers in your group will thrive alongside you in Richmond, VA as they build and empower their teams of full-time photographers. Those photographers will operate throughout the United States and will capture high-quality imagery via DSLR, drones, 3D tour, and video alongside valuable data. Your team will help families, individuals, real estate agents, owners, investors, lenders, and more discover communities and drive decisions on residential real estate.

You and the leaders in your organization will collaborate with the Development team to create tools and processes to help your team be more effective, with the Machine Learning (AI) group to leverage additional insights from the content collected, with Research partners to expand the quality and depth of data, with Product Design to present the imagery and observations, and Sales to communicate the value proposition of this incredible resource.

  • Build, train, mentor, and coach a growing team of 10+ top quality professional leaders
  • Lead the team in the creation of style guides to elevate the quality and consistency of photography and videography captured for residential real estate and surrounding communities
  • Establish media, drone, and data collection capabilities for one of the largest private drone fleets in the world
  • Leverage team to capture imagery to market neighborhoods across the United States to consumers looking for their next homes
  • Work closely with agents and brokers to expertly market their real estate
  • Identifying new technologies and styles to implement marketing media strategies
  • Review incoming media and data from individual contributors to determine its quality relative to standards and guidelines
  • Provide constructive and actionable feedback to team members to meet both production and quality expectations
  • Create strategic action plans to help team members build leadership skills as well as technical abilities
  • Communicate and collaborate with clients and internal leaders to resolve issues and assess needs for future operational improvements and innovation
  • Travel quarterly about the US required to support team growth
Basic Qualifications
  • 7+ years of leading, managing, training, or otherwise being responsible for the success of a team
  • Success in building strong, cohesive teams by leading and motivating towards action/execution through influence and collaboration
  • Demonstrated success leading business planning processes with business case development and budget management experience
  • Leadership and management skills, including the ability to prioritize and control workload of a team, coaching, and mentoring through professional development
  • Bachelor’s degree
Preferred Qualifcations And Skills
  • Experience leading a team of people managers
  • Experience with creating effective KPIs and meeting performance metrics, being results-oriented
  • Demonstrated professional photography and/or media capture experience
  • Experience and demonstrated proficiency with Excel that includes the ability to manipulate data, filter, and develop basic formulas.
  • Analytical approach with the ability to interpret information and trends, adapting quickly
  • Ability to interact at all levels and establish rapport with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience developing retention strategies
  • Experience working in SaaS (Real estate technology preferred)
