Product Development Coordinator

Objective

Support the development and validation of product specifications through the entire product life-cycle, from product conception to final execution of product packaging and design, to ensure quality and customer needs are met by collaborating with and updating internal and external partners to determine product needs, drive initiatives, resolve issues, and ensure alignment. The Product Development Coordinator will report to the Product Development Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Product Development Team and partner with design to coordinate and monitor the development, management and execution of all support activities involved in bringing Onyx Brands products to the retail floor
  • Review and manage broad sample assortments, create product specifications, evaluate color, product components, and aesthetics for approvals
  • Data Input for managing, communicating and tracking product details from inspiration to production
  • Support the product development life cycle from concept to launch while ensuring on-time delivery of critical timelines, milestones, budgets and quality control goals,identifying potential issues, performing root cause analysis and communicating findings, in addition to recommending solutions to resolve issues.
  • Maintain item tracking logs and product data base
  • Process, ship and receive product samples
  • Lead cross function status/needs meetings to ensure accuracy and efficiency through the development and delivery process
  • Help coordinate and maintain consumer, corporate and retailer testing processes
  • Performing visual in-store review of items to identify variances and evaluating products against specifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 1+ years prior product development, design or marketing experience
  • High-level interpersonal skills, excelling at influencing, resolving conflict and
  • creative problem solving
  • Proactive and high-energy team player
  • Analytical skills with the ability to translate and implement results
  • Highly organized with attention to detail while balancing multiple projects with
  • timelines
  • Satisfactorily completed color test
  • Proficient at Microsoft applications; PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook
  • This position is limited to persons with indefinite right to work within the United States
