POSITION SUMMARY:

This position’s focus is to conceptualize, engineer, coordinate and manage, the design of midstream oil & gas facilities such as loading racks, meter stations, valve sites, pipelines, pump stations, bulk terminals, and other related facilities. The ideal candidate has considerable experience designing gas pipeline, terminal, and loading rack systems. A solid background in process projects such as piping, pump selection, loading/ unloading facilities, additive systems, terminal automation, and pipeline stations is required. 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Serve as a key contributor for engineering design and analysis of chemical and thermal processes, performing manual and computational calculations. • Resolve highly complex technical issues and conduct advanced research. • Specify equipment, identify suppliers, review quotes, and manage suppliers and schedules to ensure high quality on-time installation. • Provide written communication to customers and co-workers for documents such as progress updates, process narratives for control of complex systems, operating procedures for start-up or normal operation of equipment, and government and commercial proposals •Coordinate complex engineering projects from design to implementation •Collaborate with and lead other engineers & technicians in the specification, test, and design of equipment and development of corporate systems and safety procedures • Support or lead project management to facilitate process implementation and promote successful project execution • Provide project site activities such as plant check-out, commissioning and plant start-up support, and operation training. 


JOB QUALIFICATIONS:  

• This position requires a degree in Engineering from a 4-year ABET accredited college or university. • 5+ years of experience in hands-on engineering and/or process design of chemical processes and equipment. • Demonstrated skills in performing calculations for design and analysis of heat exchangers, mass and energy balance, chemical process equipment calculations, pressure vessels and piping design, flow and head loss, process modeling of thermal systems and steam generating equipment, and process modeling of chemical conversion equipment. • Experience in developing Process Flow Diagrams, P&ID’s, and control system architecture. • Excellent writing skills for such documents as process narratives, performance specifications, start-up, and operating procedures. • Solid understanding of standard fabrication processes for chemical process equipment and piping. • Detail oriented – capable of designing completely functional equipment and systems. • Analysis experience in such areas as fluid flow, heat transfer, chemical reaction engineering, and mechanical stress calculations. • Ability to work well in a team environment and capable of leading teams. • Ability to multi-task, working with several engineers and designers on multiple projects. • Demonstrated initiative and drive to complete tasks well and to anticipate and solve problems with little supervision. • Must be highly motivated, eager to learn, and committed to meeting our customers’ needs. • Current valid driver's license required and must have a current TWIC card • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of individuals/employees. 


WORKING CONDITIONS: 


Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will need at times the ability to travel to job sites and traverse by foot difficult terrain to conduct site evaluations.  


Working Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works indoors at a computer. The employee will be expected to travel to client’s work sites and offices for extended periods of time or work locally in the Houston, TX area.  


Materials and Equipment Used: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly use computers, phone, copiers, analytical electronic devices, and operate a motor vehicle.   The employee is expected to be familiar with Microsoft Office tools and the Autodesk Architecture, Engineering, & Construction collection. The employee will also need to be proficient with Aspen Hysys. 


Travel Expected: This position will be remote to Findlay, OH but local to the Beaumont, TX area.  Regular trips to Findlay will be expected but most work will be conducted at active construction site locations around Beaumont.  Employee will be able to work remote other times.
